Job Description
Industry Nine (Asheville, NC) is seeking a full-time Athlete and Events Manager to maximize the ROI on our team of world-class athletes around the world. This critical role will be responsible for managing and scouting new athlete talent, monitoring performance, and increasing consumer aspiration and brand relevance through story-telling, content output, and competition support . In addition, this position will lend a supporting role in our event marketing strategy via logistical preparation, brand representation, and athlete engagement at a selection of high-profile events during the season. Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in sports marketing, athlete management or a related field.
Experience supporting and/or directly managing events at a grassroots and/or national level.
Excellent project management skills, with an eye for the details.
Proven success in contract negotiation and subsequent performance management.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Budget management and ability to prioritize appropriate resource allocations between an evolving athlete roster and annual events strategy.
Passionate about sports and the athlete/consumer experience.
Role Responsibilities:
Athlete Management: Utilization of all athletes within our portfolio and identifying emerging talent.
Contract Management: Negotiation skills to map and define athlete and event contracts, while ensuring a clear understanding of expectations and performance monitoring that yield mutually positive results.
Media Support: Assist marketing team in content generation, and analyzing performance on our social channels, specifically through events and athlete content.
Communication: Maintain positive and consistent communication with internal teams and athletes by setting expectations, deadlines and presenting opportunities as they develop.
Brand Representation: Ensure high-level standards in athlete brand representation, and performance.
Collaborative Production: Actively partner with content producers and athletes to generate and fine-tune media content, ensuring it meets the unique requirements of each specific distribution channel.
Travel: 15-25%
Location: Hybrid/Remote opportunities will be considered based on qualifications and experience
