The APWU Health Plan, a health insurance company located in Glen Burnie, MD, is seeking a Computer Operator.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Monitor assigned computer equipment and verifies that expected input files have been transferred correctly.
• Start computer runs per operations direction and monitor correct completion of batch runs and production output files.
• Monitor operations and system monitors, analyze problems and initiate corrective action in accordance with standard procedure and within the scope of knowledge and authority.
• Meet production schedules for work performed.
• Perform required setup and takedown functions in an expeditious and efficient manner.
• Enter input data and remove outputs as required by application programs.
• Perform administrative duties pertaining to system operations, monitoring, scheduling and management
• Perform daily preventive maintenance according to pre-determined standards.
• Perform related duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Three years’ experience in a Windows environment using current Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must have experience with FTP (file transfer protocol) clients.
• Must have experience with UNIX cron job execution and monitoring.
• Must be capable of routinely and repeatedly lifting 40 pounds.
• Preferred experience will include:
• Microsoft Windows Server - current version(s)
• InfoPrint Manager
• Industry standard job scheduling and automation software (JAMS preferred )
• SQL Reporting
• Web application execution
• Data Card ID Card printer
• Xerox Nuvera Printing Systems

Must have stable work history.

Successful candidates must be able to work multiple shifts, to include 3 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and will be subject to a criminal records check and drug screening prior to offer; this is a Union position.
