Job Title: EDM Machinist
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled EDM Machinist who is capable of programming, setting up, and operating various EDM machines. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to write and validate part programs for all manufacturing needs, ensuring quality and efficiency in production processes.

Responsibilities

• Write and validate part programs for all manufacturing needs.
• Prove-out, set-up, operate, and verify the quality of products on EDM machines.
• Perform routine or repetitive operations consistently meeting quality requirements and production standards.
• Perform complex set-ups on EDM equipment without assistance.
• Develop, document, and prove out programs/processes on various machine tools.
• Monitor variations in program sequence, such as positioning and cycle time, and make necessary corrections.
• Work from drawings, specifications, and other instructions with minimal direction.
• Perform routine wire EDM machine maintenance, including preventative maintenance.
• Achieve set productivity targets and identify ways to improve productivity.
• Identify and support Continuous Improvement efforts, including knowledge of 5S methodology.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in operating and programming wire EDM machines for the production of high-speed steel and carbide components.
• Ability to read and work from drawings.
• Experience with measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, and comparators.
• Solid math skills and toolmaking expertise.
• 10+ years of prior experience with programming and operating wire EDM machines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree or certificate in Tooling & Machining or Machinist apprenticeship is a plus.

Work Environment

The position is located in a machine shop, utilizing technologies such as AgieCharmilles 240 and AgieCharmilles Form30 EDM machines to shape metal workpieces that adhere to extremely tight tolerances.

This is a Permanent position based out of Bellingham, Massachusetts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $65000.00/yr.
