Foreman – Lead Log Home Restoration Projects Across Northern California

Are you a skilled leader with hands-on experience in log home restoration? ParkerBeth Search Partners is seeking a Foreman on behalf of our client, a trusted log home construction and restoration company, to oversee crews on log home refinishing and restoration projects throughout Northern California. This role offers the opportunity to combine craftsmanship, leadership, and problem-solving while representing a respected name in the industry.

Why This Opportunity?

Competitive Pay & Benefits

  • Pay Rate: $35–$38/hour, commensurate with experience

  • Health Insurance: 100% employer-covered individual PPO plan

  • Retirement: Cal Savers state program available

  • Tools provided; lodging covered during projects

Stable Pipeline of Projects

  • Year-round work with seasonal scheduling adjustments (4x10 in daylight savings months, 5x8 during winter)

  • Average 40+ homes completed annually

  • Mix of short- and long-term projects (from 3 days to 4 weeks)

Leadership Growth Potential

  • Represent the company on-site with responsibility for safety, quality, and crew performance

  • Opportunity to step into expanded leadership as ownership transitions into retirement

Your Role as Foreman

As Foreman, you will lead a crew of 4–6 in restoring and refinishing log homes across Northern California. You’ll manage project flow from mobilization to closeout, enforce safety standards, and ensure superior workmanship in staining, blasting, chinking, and sealing.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supervising crews on restoration projects from start to finish

  • Coordinating site logistics, scheduling, and crew performance to meet timelines

  • Overseeing media blasting, sanding, staining, sealing, and chinking applications

  • Training and mentoring junior crew members in restoration techniques

  • Maintaining tools, equipment, and material inventories for upcoming jobs

  • Acting as the primary liaison with management, clients, and inspectors

  • Reporting on daily progress and ensuring projects meet budget and quality standards

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Skills

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in log home restoration, painting/staining, or carpentry

  • Crew leadership experience — managing 4 or more employees effectively

  • Comfort with chainsaws, grinders, sanders, sprayers, and other job-site tools

  • Strong problem-solving skills — a solutions-oriented mindset is essential

  • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials daily in varied weather conditions

Certifications & Technical Tools

  • Valid California driver’s license; clean record

  • Background check and drug screening required

  • OSHA certification a plus

Soft Skills & Culture Fit

  • Family-oriented, ethical leadership style

  • Calm under pressure, adaptable to changing site conditions

  • Strong communication and client-facing demeanor

  • Team-first approach — “all for one, one for all” mindset

Work Schedule & Travel

  • Location: Northern California projects (including mountain and rural regions)

  • Schedule: 4x10s

  • Travel: Foreman and crew travel 4 days per week. Crews leave Monday mornings for project sites, stay in company-provided lodging during the week, and return home Thursday evenings.

Compensation & Perks

  • $35–$38/hour based on experience

  • Health insurance (100% employer-paid for individual coverage)

  • Cal Savers retirement program

  • Lodging and travel covered for projects

  • Annual discretionary bonuses based on performance and company success

  • Relocation assistance available for candidates open to moving to the Grass Valley or Redding area
