Assistant Program Coordinator
Eager to take your career in environmental and outdoor education to the next level? Outdoor Classroom is looking for a dedicated Assistant Program Coordinator (APC) to join our residential outdoor education program this fall. The APC plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth program operation, assisting the Program Coordinator (PC) in administrative tasks, and stepping into teaching roles when necessary. You'll also work collaboratively with the PC to train and support our outdoor education instructors.
Who we are
As the largest outdoor and environmental education program in the northeastern US, we specialize in experiential education with a focus on science, nature, and social-emotional learning. We provide engaging and transformative programming for elementary and middle school students, hosting overnight field trips for hundreds of schools each spring and fall at our seven picturesque sites.

Work schedule
The work schedule runs from Monday through Friday each week of the fall season. The position starts on August 29 and ends on October 24, 2025.
Salary & benefits
The APC earns a weekly rate of $800. We provide shared accommodations for the season. Meals are provided by the dining hall when schools are on-site. Food on weekends is supplemented through a stipend for the whole staff team. As housing is shared, please note that pets and emotional support animals are not allowed.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will have experience working with elementary and middle school students, preferably in an educational or outdoor setting. Leadership or staff management experience is highly desirable. The APC must be physically capable of navigating uneven terrain quickly during emergencies. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, but not required.
