Contract Duration: 05/13/2024 05/12/2027 Location: Washington DC/Hybrid We are an award-winning small business that provides information technology and engineering services to the public sector. We are seeking a strong Scrum Master with 610 years of experience working with technical teams for an existing client. The Scrum Master will be accountable for supporting the building or customization of software systems and will thrive in an environment that presents ambiguously defined problems, big challenges, and quick changes. The ideal candidate will balance detailed execution with speed and possess solid collaborative skills. This is a fast-paced environment where every day brings new challenges and new opportunities. This position will refine the software development processes, contribute cross-functional technical and product expertise, assess and manage risks, anticipate and resolve bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make tradeoffs, and balance business needs with technical constraints. This role involves regular communication with senior management on project status and risks. Executive presentation skills are essential. Responsibilities Help the team, stakeholders, and leadership understand Scrum values and principles, and drive adoption Ensure goals, scope, and product are understood by all team members Facilitate Scrum routines and coach the team in agile principles such as collaboration, self-organization, prioritization, accountability, and visibility Partner with Product Owners on effective Product Backlog creation and management Promote clear and concise Product Backlogs Support those outside the team in building constructive interactions with the team Remove impediments, foster change that boosts productivity, and work with other Scrum Masters to increase agile effectiveness Address difficult questions and surface problems to empower team growth via self-organization Encourage team ownership of commitments and cultivate a positive, inclusive culture Identify root causes, propose sustainable solutions, and automate meaningful metrics and dashboards to improve team health Own the Agile Lifecycle Management tool and drive Lean process improvements to reduce waste and focus on value-add tasks Requirements Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field, or equivalent work experience 610 years as a Scrum Master with strong interpersonal skills and experience on diverse technical teams with high-visibility products Current SAFe Agile Scrum Master Certification Strong understanding of SAFe Agile methodologies and IT concepts, strategies, architectures, and technical standards Skilled in facilitating planning meetings, demos, and retrospectives Strong conflict resolution and mediation abilities Excellent communication skills for delivering complex messages and teaching new concepts Proven leadership in achieving successful outcomes with persuasive negotiation skills Experience leading cross-functional teams across organizations Commitment to transparency Proficiency with Jira, Miro, and Trello; familiarity with Confluence, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint Preferred: Experience with GitHub and Red Hat OpenShift #J-18808-Ljbffr Changeis
