Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position covering multiple locations, requiring a CO or compact RN license and strong Med/Surg and Telemetry skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Med/Surg and Telemetry float pool without a home unit
• Float assignments cover any facility within a 60-mile radius of the float zone city center
• Patient population includes Med/Surg and Telemetry cases
• 12-hour night shifts with a schedule of 3 shifts per week
• Must adapt to varied assignments at multiple facilities within the designated zone
• Uses EPIC EMR system and EPIC experience is preferred
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement care plans collaboratively
• Provide education and support to patients and families based on individual needs
• Must demonstrate competency in IVs, wound care, medication administration, and specimen collection
• Flu vaccination is required during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31) unless a medical exemption is provided
• No local candidates are eligible for travel positions within a 60-mile radius
• Participate in quality improvement activities and foster teamwork within inter-professional teams
• Applicants are required to sign a float agreement acknowledging floating expectations

Requirements

• Active CO or compact state RN license required at time of consideration
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Minimum of one year recent RN experience preferred
• American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Ability to float to any assignment within a 60-mile radius
• Only AHA certifications are accepted
• No pending licenses accepted, must be active at the time of consideration
