Job Description

* A terminal degree (Ph.D. or MFA) in Creative Writing, Rhetoric & Composition, or related field.* Teaching experience in higher education in both first-year composition and creative writing.* Knowledge of best practices in writing and creative writing pedagogies.* Experience mentoring undergraduate students in creative writing projects, including literary journal editing, publication submission, public readings, and/or conference presentations.* Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).* Experience developing first year composition curriculum, especially for corequisite composition.* A record of creative works publication.* Detailed CV or resume listing relevant qualifications and experience;* Letter of interest indicating why you are a good fit for the position and Nevada State University;* Statement of Teaching Philosophy;* Names and contact information of three references, at least one of whom can speak to your teaching ability (you will be notified before references are contacted).Having been established in 2002, Nevada State University places a special emphasis on the advancement of a diverse and largely underserved student population.
